Green Day Discography 1 - 10,000 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours

It's time for another full discography. However, this one will be controversial. This is my Green Day. Everything after American Idiot is a different band. I don't feel like i have to defend that statement. I don't dislike current Green Day, i just don't care about their last 3 albums. Maybe in 20 more years i will?

Dookie is there in spirit, my CD is currently hiding. Probably somewhere unpleasant.

Johnny Rotten thought Green Day were weasley little posers, but i think Public Image Ltd. was a terrible band, and the one Sex Pistols album isn't fun, even for me, the guy who can learn to like anything. Nobody's going to win that coin toss, 'cause listening to Lydon's opinions on anything is like desperately trying to forget that you said the opposite thing a year ago. Rotten says whatever thing will make the person he's talking to confused and upset, that's his character, he wants to be centrist compared to whichever bias you throw at him and he's counting on you not actually listening to him. He's just a walking attitude trying to get you to actually do what you yourself believe. Respectable, but annoying as hell.

So, Johnny Rotten can suck eggs. Here comes the ham. That's a Dr. Seuss joke.

Their first album is actually their first 3 EPs compiled into one album. It sounds like it was written by teenagers because it was written by teenagers. Keeping that in mind it's quite enjoyable. The songs get better with each album, but they thankfully stay completely emotionally juvenile throughout. The Ramones didn't want to grow up, and Green Day said us neither, poop jokes and sad break ups and sarcasm 'til we're 40 and start wearing eyliner like we're teenagers going through a Robert Smith phase. How can you not like these irascibly mopey little snot-rags as much as Letterman did?

My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - Hit & Run Holiday

I noticed today that the strange part of the world who actually knows about My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult has finally accepted that they are in fact "industrial disco." The history of Wax Trax and Chicago industrial music is a subject worthy of an entire library, but MLWTTK is my favorite band to emerge from those humble record store beginnings. They are an unpredictable band for sure, and i definitely don't like all of their albums, but Hit & Run Holiday is an album i think every human being on the planet should hear at least once. This album is simply impossible to describe, because it doesn't actually belong to a musical genre as we understand them. It's actually a movie. I know that sounds weird, but the band is actually a movie. My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult was the name of the movie they were trying to make, but composing the soundtrack led them so far afield that they just shrugged and kept going as a band instead. Eyrth - Meridian

A terrible sadness accompanies the release of Meridian by Latvian Ambient Metal band EYRTH. Since their debut Fracture in early 2019 the band, and indeed the whole world has suffered a global pandemic, intense ideo-political turmoil, the death of friend and bandmate Igor Golovin, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  The war in Ukraine still wages on, even though we in the Western hemisphere seem to have largely forgotten. These are turbulent times, and Alex and Andrey are rightfully entering an extended break. We may not see or hear new music from them for a while, if ever, and that is completely understandable. The music they've created, however, is truly breathtaking. Self-described as "Uranium wreckage in audio," the music of Eyrth is every bit as hauntingly beautiful as it is brutally crushing.
