Less Than Jake - Losing Streak

As is my prerogative, i'm invoking the second record rule. No it's not Bobby Brown, i just wasn't happy with liking Saturday Night Fever and it's still early. So let's listen to my favorite Less Than Jake album, Losing Streak. They're from New Jersey, and they're glad about it (like the 4 Seasons). It is the Garden State, after all. I'm lying, they're from Florida and that's how you know the barbershop quartet intro is unadulterated sarcasm (the fact that their name comes from being told that they were annoying the pet parrot is a pretty dead giveaway as well). Johnny Quest thinks they're sellouts, but i suspect he just doesn't like ska. I do.
They really did have a super fan in his 60s who came to all their shows and banged around with the teenagers in the mosh pit, so they invited him to tell a story about getting caught naked during an affair with a married woman. It's like the punk version of Skynyrd's Three Steps. They manipulated the index file so you had to physically rewind track 1 to hear it, go too far and you'd wrap around to the last track and have to start all over again. Fun times.
You think it's a non-sequiter, but as soon as you hear the first two lines it'll make complete sense. This album makes me happy, i could listen to it on a loop for days. I still don't want to go back to work tomorrow, but right now is pretty swell. Cheers.
