I am not saying that the intent is right or wrong, good or bad, i am simply trying to highlight that any supposed win for "liberty" comes at the equal expense of another's liberty. Whether you like it or not, this school funding bill rescinds the rights of private citizens and local, city, and business jurisdictions to mandate a relatively minor safety procedure, and instead consolidates that power to the level of the State.
It amounts to taking away access to legal evaluation of citizens rights in a potential health emergency and instead declares that only the state can determine the maximum allowable safety precautions of private business.
In championing any supposed "win," you have increased the legal authority of the state of Iowa, enacted new legally binding laws governing personal relationships between citizens in place of resolving these personal disputes, and proved yet again that your "feelings" are more important than civil discussion and compromise.
You have turned a simple pissing contest into an unnecessary governmental edict.
This is just my opinion, but that's the agenda that Fox News and other Conservative media outlets have been hammering since Biden officially took office. I'm not saying you can't be happy that you don't HAVE to wear a mask to the grocery store, i'm saying be honest and ask whether that is worth actual governmental intervention, or whether the TV told you to feel that way. I personally think it is the actual opposite of what many people say they desire in terms of smaller, less intrusive government.
There, Skip, how's that for a political opinion?
Skip: i, uh, er....
Bottle: yep, that's the boat i row. I think i'll use my "i don't need a reason" card this turn, and we'll all just enjoy Neil Diamond's Classics in comparative silence.
