System Of A Down - Toxicity
*albums in response to the death of George Floyd*
But seriously, the sentiment that some people need to go home followed by the sentiment that those other people need to get back to work followed by criticizing people for not working when you then describe them as unworthy of having a job followed by asking me what i think is a recipe for getting a big fat earful of what i think. I think you're a moron.
I also think it's the perfect time to listen to System Of A Down's Toxicity. It's a great album. Even my wife likes this album. It's great.
It asks the most relevant questions i can think of:
You. What, do you own the world? How do you own disorder?
I suggest you just listen to it.
The Armenian Genocide was the systematic mass murder and expulsion of 1.5 million ethnic Armenians carried out in Turkey and adjoining regions by the Ottoman government between 1914 and 1923.
Lots of people denied it and still deny that it happened, just like people deny the Holocaust.
The best story about the early days of SOAD is that any time they played, 200 people would show up 5 minutes before their set, mosh and cheer and be thrilled, then just leave before the headliner even took the stage.
Listen to them speak. The follow up to Toxicity is called Steal This Album! and it's not a joke. Unfinished demos of tracks that didn't make Toxicity leaked onto the internet, so Daron and Rick Ruben finished producing them out of guilt that their real fans were hearing unfinished tracks.
America the nation has a lot of unpaid parking tickets. But i don't like alternative metal, wah. I don't like mayonnaise, but i have to actually refrain myself from quoting Bruce Willis in The Whole Nine Yards every single time i order a sandwich, and i still eat as much of the sandwich as i can because mayonnaise isn't going to kill me, i just prefer not to taste it.
Some of us have to constantly remind the people we randomly encounter that we disagree with their politics and philosophies while treating them with the same respect and consideration that every person young or old deserves. You can think whatever you want to think, but the moment it distracts me from my work i will politely ask you to stop, often i don't even have to ask i just lift my head up and crack my neck like i'm tense and trying to loosen up. Don't whistle while i work.
Call me crazy, but i don't think the boys like LA all that much. What is it with cities where dollar bills are more useful as cocaine straws or stripper tips than currency? How is that fun?
I'd rather use my energy at home than to haul air conditioners back and forth in an un-air-conditioned warehouse, but i'm a beast of burden like the rest of the actual working class so silence me for my radical ideas of tolerance and compassion. Eat a bag of dicks, corporate america. I realize Louis C K isn't the most PC comedian to reference, but i've been avoiding the 3 Bill Cosby albums in my record collection. Sometimes it's the things you don't say that are important.
Perspective. Learn a new one every day.
