Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (for the umpteenth time)

The level of complete delusional insanity needed to be upset about the logo Pink Floyd designed for the 50th anniversary of Dark Side of the Moon is mind boggling. Yet, there they are hating rainbows and being shocked that Pink Floyd aren't particularly fond of the right wing conservative perspective. It's hard to comprehend, but then again it's easy to understand why. In the end it's all about creating artificial scarcity to feed the need to make existence meaningful. This is merely my opinion, but Economics is really nothing more than a globally manifested form of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Everything perfectly lined up but always out of reach, the metaphorical dangling carrot approach. The point, my friends, is that there is no dark side of the moon, we merely only ever see the same half of it. And then, when everything lines up just so, we can't see it at all. Hooray for geosynchronisity.

The irony of the "woke" phenomenon is that the anti-woke crowd is attempting to claim to be uber-woke, as though being excessively stupid is more intelligent than regular stupid. Sure, that's true inside the larger context of "being a moron equals good thing/win a prize," but there is no prize and it's not a good thing. Plus, that's Devo not Pink Floyd, so i have to assume they're just hating things because preemptively hating things is somehow more important than finding out if you legitimately like or hate them and allowing people to have a different opinion?

Like, why would you even bring the 2023 symbolic universe of rainbows to bear on a 1973 album cover that demonstrates how prisms work? Are you mad that prisms slow down light so that we can see the spectrum of wavelengths said light contains? Oh no, i said "spectrum," i must be "woke" and spewing Leftist propaganda!

I'm honestly asking here, how do you not hear the sarcasm in Money or Brain Damage? Maybe they do? Could it be that simple? "Hey, wait a minute, Pink Floyd is making fun of me and my ideological identity. How dare they disagree with my indoctrinated Anglo-classist world view!" No, even that seems way too complicated. It's much more likely the "i've been promised an objectively unobtainable prize for unquestioningly defending the hegemony. Other people being happy makes me SO MAD!!"

That's dumb. I'm not going to apologize for calling it dumb. I don't think anyone's an idiot, but at a certain point i'm afraid i'm going to have to change my mind. There are lots of great people who are wealthy and use that wealth to accomplish good things, but it's tough to find an example on twitbox or facepalm or awnonotyoutoo. Mostly that's because they don't waste any of it buying sponsored post boosts or top 30 search engine results, they just go out and do whatever it is they do.

Which reminds me, do you hate junk mail? I bet you do. Well, i'm gonna let you in on a little secret. You know who sends all that junk mail that keeps USPS going? Man you're gonna hate it when i say it. For profit capitalist businesses using spam advertising to get you to buy random crap you don't need. Strange, never once have i heard anyone praise the entrepreneurial spirit behind mail-order catalogs, final notices about your car warranties expiring, credit card application forms, or random class-action lawsuits. Seems like it should make you giddy with pride. Oh crud, another one of those trigger words. For a moment there i forgot that only cis white legacy frat pledges are allowed to be proud of anything. Shame on me.

Welp, i guess it's true, the lunatic is in my head. Luckily he's not me, but unluckily i've got to keep off the grass and on the path that leads to the grocery store because food doesn't just grow on trees around here, especially in the middle of winter. See you right here on the same side of the moon, light or dark as the case may be.
